Katie Dennis Obituary, FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. — Katie Dennis was killed and two other people were hurt following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Cockfield Road in Florence County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened at approximately 1:25 a.m. Sunday on Cockfield Road between Cockfield Road and Tranquility Road. Law enforcement noted that a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck carrying three people was traveling westbound when it left the roadway.
Per to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the pickup truck traveled off the left side of the road, overturned, and struck a ditch. The crash caused all three occupants to suffer injuries.
Dennis sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her loss has left those affected by the crash mourning the loss of her life.
Two other occupants in the pickup truck were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their identities and current conditions have not been released by authorities.
Authorities have not gave additional details regarding what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators have not confirmed whether speed, impairment, or any other factors contributed to the crash.
